Caribou Hunting

Our location for hunting Woodland Caribou boast some of the highest densities recorded in Newfoundland.

Operating from a main lodge, the area contains no ATV trails or roads as it is located in one of the wildest parts of the province. The only hunters you will see are those of Trophy Hunts Inc. With a small amount of walking, you are able to view miles of pristine wilderness or we have a number of ponds and small lakes that can be explored using the available motor boats. For the adventurous, outlying camps are available which are also supplied with boat and motor. For the trophy hunter, it may be necessary to view a number of animals. If we do not see the trophy animal you want then, after consultation with you, we will move you to another area. Our success rates are nearly 95% opportunity for the past number of years.

Of course, it is not impossible to size up hundreds of animals in a week's hunt, but we hunt in the most productive areas of the Middle Range Herd (Newfoundland has a population of over 10,000 animals). Our herd has larger than normal antlers than most other caribou herds, actually, most Boone and Crockett woodland caribou records (in the top ten) have come from our area, and over this past few years we have taken a number of Boone and Crockett records. Last year 33% of the animals taken were Boone and Crockett or Pope and Young world records.
